Karate is not about hurting your opponent but to protect your loved ones. “Budo begins and ends with a Rei (bow)”. Those who practice karate must endeavor to cultivate qualities (ethical norms) consisting of politeness, sense of justice, morality, self-conrol and courage in order to maintain the dignity of karate. At my dojo, you can learn the spirit of martial arts through karate.　Let’s work on moving Zen, Kata and of course, correct manners.

Jouji Taniguchi

I am a former Japan Self-Defense Forces Karate champion, official karate coach of Japan Sports Federation, a member of Tokyo Junior committee、and National Kumite referee. When I was teaching karate at the Japan Self-Defense Forces, my students frequently had to move so then I realized I should teach 4 major karate styles for them to be able to continue karate at any location. I own several karate dojos throughout Tokyo.
